Hola from la Republica Dominicana!

Today has been a good day. It has also been a hard day. We joined our brothers and sisters in El Penon for worship this morning. On our way into the village, we passed a military truck that held and was deporting many members of the church and community. The service was sparse. The tears were real. The Holy Spirit was present. We lamented, we worshiped, we mourned, we prayed, and we looked to the Word of God. Dr. Bob reminded us that the Gospel of Jesus Christ cannot be stopped. He reminded us that faith is not knowing. He urged us to embrace God.

After church, we ate lunch, prepared for clinic, and enjoyed our sunny afternoon. Some of us enjoyed it in the clear blue ocean, some with a book, and some in bed. This evening we have worshipped as a team, been encouraged and equipped for the week ahead, and met as small groups to get to know one another and our God better.

Please pray for the people of El Penon as they grapple with their current circumstances. Pray that they will embrace God with their whole lives and cling to Him breath by breath. Pray for our team also as we see patients tomorrow and share the Gospel with them.

In Christ,

Sadie and the team
