​Hello blog! Here’s Caroline checking in after a fun day at Catalina Island!

We got to sleep in this morning before getting on the bus to head to La Romana. From there, we got on a boat to ride over to the island. During our ride, we stopped to jump into the beautiful, crystal blue ocean and snorkel. We saw many vibrantly colored fish and coral reefs. Once we docked on the island, we pretty quickly ordered our pina coladas, which each came in its own pineapple 🙂 Island life was a delight! We jumped back into the ocean and while I thought I might go sit in my chair and read a book, maybe fall asleep, I was recruited to be team captain for an ocean game of football… Only this group of people really could’ve convinced me to play football and I don’t regret staying for a second. We laughed so much AND my team won!
Looking around at our group as we rode back on the boat, I felt so full of gratitude. Thank the Lord for His intentionality in bringing us all to the DR this week.
I’m sure I speak for us all when I say we will miss our nights of playing games, laughter, singing, and dessert, especially when we have to exchange this for studying. It truly has been a gift that we will cherish, and we are excited to head back into school with a renewed perspective. Each day that we go to school, we are putting our feet to our faith, trusting that one day soon, we will be able to take all that we learn and put it to use like we have seen modeled by the doctors here on our team.
We’ll be headed back at 11:30 tomorrow morning! Pray for us as we travel, and we can’t wait to tell all of you about our trip in person!
