What’s happening everyone? There sure is a lot happening down here in the DR. The Lord is moving, and so are we. Started the morning off bright and early with worship and a devotion about abiding in Christ led by our very own Will Browning. The menu this morning started off strong with french toast and fried spam. YUM! Nothing like the meat sweats at 6:45 am in 90 degree weather and 100% humidity. At 8, we loaded up and headed to Monte Cristi! But no need to worry parents, Annie was sure to grab a group picture before we left. Today was our first day of full clinic. We were very blessed to have 2 buildings where we were able to separate triage and medical stations from evangelism and pharmacy. The Lord was well aware that our hard working pharmacists would need all the room they could get today. We were also given the opportunity to visit the connecting nursing home and treat the residents there. The Lord’s presence was so evident throughout the day, and we give thanks for how smoothly everything was run. Some clinical highlights included Nina and Paola assisting the removal of a basal cell carcinoma, Ashley learning to give steroid injections in the knee, Garrett being able to join Dr. Bert on a house call to a surgery post op patient, and Sara Pacer getting to play with 10 of the cutest babies we’ve ever seen. We are praising the Lord that 2 people accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior today, along with being able to shower each patient that came through with prayers. Wrapped up the day sweatier than when we left, but filled with so much joy. Ended the night with team dinner, followed by worship and a moving message about serving the Lord as a physician from Dr. Tom. Everyone is missing their loved ones and sends them hugs and kisses.
Now off to the tarantula hunt!
Sincerely,
Nina And Anne
PS. Happy Birthday Tori Abeyta! I love you!
