​Hola!!

We made it to the DR safe and sound with no bumps in the road! Sunday was filled with joy and excitement for the week to come. After having a pancake breakfast, we loaded up the buses and headed to church in El Penon, where we got to meet our brothers and sisters in Christ and where our fearless leader Christina previously lived for a month. The church service was beautiful and it was evident the Lord was moving in El Penon. Although we wish we could have stayed all day, there was work to be done back at Score. We spent the rest of the day preparing for the clinic by undergoing medical training, unpacking supplies, and counting and sorting medications. Some highlights so far have included the nightly Tres Leches from the La Plaza down the street, beautiful worship led by our classmates, quality time in our small groups sharing our testimonies, and the infamous Bean Game brought to us by Paola. We can’t forget tarantula hunting with Dr. George. Unfortunately, no tarantulas were caught, but it’s only Monday. Looking forward to our first day in the clinic and seeing how the Lord moves through each and every one of us and the patients we encounter today. Stay tuned for more exciting updates tonight!
