We had another wonderful day serving our brothers and sisters here in the Dominican! The students from the three different schools have really begun to integrate as a well-functioning team throughout the entirety of our clinic. Today being our third day of clinic in combination with the heat, our team left fatigued, especially heading into the afternoon but we were still able to see so many patients!

Something that stood out to almost everyone was the number of children that showed up not only to be seen, but also to hang out with our team. The majority of them ended up staying the whole day, and even though it was one of the hottest days, our students were so loving towards these children. Despite the language barrier, we were still able to love the children that God had brought to the church today.

Another interesting thing that our team got to do today was visit someone in their home. A friend of one of the women we saw at the clinic had several medical conditions that did not physically allow her to come to us. Upon examining this woman, we quickly realized that, unfortunately, there was not much we would be able to do for her physical health. However, we were able to pray for her health conditions and other personal circumstances she is going through. It was initially discouraging that we were not able to help her, but she was grateful for us despite the outcome.

Our day ended by getting to hear an encouraging message from one of the practicing physicians here on God’s perfect plan for our life and the purpose he has intended for each and every one of us. He told us about his experience going through medical school and the struggles he had while choosing a specialty and residency program. He stressed the importance of relying on God and putting our trust in Him even when there is no clear direction or path.

Please pray for our last day of clinic tomorrow! As we wrap up the week, we are excited to see what God still has in store!
