Hola,
Today we were back in Christina’s home of El Penon. We were welcomed with unmatched hospitality and love. Leveraging our relationship with this village, we are beginning to implement and maintain medical records for this community. This extra paperwork slowed our clinic flow down a little bit, but we trust that it will serve El Penon well in the long run. I regret to report that we had more patients that paperwork…Christina underestimated. You also would not believe what a softie she is for her family in El Penon–her love in Christ for these people is moving and inspiring. We had the privilege of seeing many church members as patients. We treated their physical needs, and we prayed with them over their physical, relational, familial, practical, and spiritual needs. In addition to praying with our brothers and sisters in Christ, we were overjoyed to welcome 4 more brothers and sisters into the family of God as they made decisions to follow Jesus today. We have now seen 23 souls come to know Jesus this week. The Spirit is at work here and home and everywhere. Praise God.
I have been reminded of the power of a question. When we sit down to share the Gospel with a patient, we start by asking simple questions. “Are you a Christian? Can I share the good news of Jesus with you? Can I pray for you?” It is beautifully simple, and the Gospel speaks across cultural and language. Tonight we worshiped God, unified by the Holy Spirit, with all the people at Score, including other short-term teams, interns, and full-time missionaries. We are encouraged and asking the Lord to continue working in and through us.
In Christ,
Sadie and the team
